Short bioBoth Rose Krzys and her husband Mike married twice, but it’s the second marriage that kept, and they were married for 49 years. (In a show of love, they always accompanied each other to the graves of their former spouses.) When she married Mike in 1943, Rose was working at Forstmann’s, a garment factory on Lanza Avenue in Garfield (Lil Sporn Lasica also worked there). Lil’s daughter, Kathy Lasica Schiro, interviewed Rose at her home in Lavallette, NJ, in August 2000 and described her as a “real dynamo. I liked her a lot.”

Rose has one son from a previous marriage. Rose and Mike also have one son, Michael, born in 1944 in Twinsberg, Ohio, near Cleveland.

Rose (Krzys), 96 of Lavallette, NJ died on Saturday January 28, 2012 at Leisure Park Nursing Home, Lakewood, NJ. Born in Garfield, NJ she lived in Toms River, NJ in 1969 then moving to Lavallette in 1973. She had summered in Lavallette since 1957. Rose worked for Forstmann Woolen Mills in Garfield, NJ in the Combing Department for 20 years retiring in 1964.

She was a parishioner of St. Pio of Pietrelcina Roman Catholic Church, Lavallette, NJ and a member of their Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Lavallette Crafts and Seniors.
Predeceased by her first husband Walter Wlazlo, her second husband Michael Dul and also her brother Al Krzys. Surviving is her two sons Leon Wlazlo of Deposit, NY and Dr. Michael J. Dul of Twinsburg, OH, five grandchildren Kathleen, Leon Jr., Paul, Jason, and Joshua, five great grandchildren Lauren, Nicole, Patrick, Sophia, and Mason.

Family will receive friend’s Tuesday January 31, 2012 2-4 and 7-9 PM at The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday February 1, 2012 10 AM at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Roman Catholic Church, Lavallette, NJ. Burial will follow St. Michael’s Cemetery, South Hackensack, NJ.
