Short bioOur cousin in Germany, Steffen Franke, says Otto was declared missing in 1945, though the Standesamt’s records don’t show him as dead. Otto was Lillian Sporn Lasica’s first cousin. He married three times, all in Finsterwalde, in 1931, 1938 and 1943. One wife’s name was Marie Guban; we’re not sure of his other two wives’ names. He has at least three children, Jutta, Christa and Marie Lucie. Otto’s birth record follows:

The woodworker Berthold Sporn, resident in Finsterwalde, Leipzigerstrasse #15, of Evangelical Lutheran religion, announced that to Lina Sporn nee Britz, his wife of Evangelical Lutheran religion, resident with him in Finsterwalde in his residence/apartment, on 30th December 1908 at 6:30 am, a boy was born, and that the child has received the given name Otto Bruno.
