Short bioMarge Hanzl Ruppert found this family tree on the Internet and contacted Joseph Lasica in June 2001. She reported:

“My husband Frank, Mom (Margaret Marakovits Hanzl) and I are living in Edinburg, NY, in the Adirondacks, lakeside on the Great Sacandaga Lake, about one-half hour west of Saratoga Springs. My father, John, died in 1988 and Mom came to live with us about five years later. [Margaret died a few years later.] Frank and I married at Holy Trinity, in Passaic, a Burgenlander and German Hungarian center. We lived in Clifton, then moved to West Caldwell, NJ.

“We have two children, Christine (who has three children, including a boy and twin girls) and Frank (who has two boys). We retired at 62 in June 2000. I taught at the now-closed Pope Pius XII high school in Passaic (NJ) for 18 years.”

Since then, Marge and Frank moved to Bangor, Penn., and Frank passed away in 2017.

Daughter Christine later wrote to add: “My mom was a high school English teacher at Pope Pius XII H.S. in Passaic. She was the moderator of their yearbook for all the years she was at PPXII, and the yearbook often won awards from Columbia University for the high quality of its writing and images. This was due in large part to my mom’s dedication and passion. An English teacher gets to know her students through the intimacy of their writing, and my mother’s former students have often contacted her through the years to keep in touch and catch her up on their lives.”

Marge is Joseph Lasica‘s second cousin once removed, and Marge’s children Christine and Frank are Joseph’s third cousins.
