Short bioJoseph was born in Vienna; when he was 9 days old the family moved to Punitz, according to daughter Mary Schepper Klucsarics. He lived his entire life there as a farmer. The family changed its name from Schepper to Sepper and finally Seper in the 1930s. Why? “I don’t know,” says Joseph’s daughter Mary, who immigrated to the U.S. in 1956. “The orders came from the governmental offices in Tobai. Back then, no one questioned officialdom.”
Joseph’s granddaughter, Elisabeth Magdits (Mary Klucsarics’s niece), says: “Your grandmother (Mary Schepper) sent a lot of parcels (clothing, etc.) to my grandfather from America when my mother was a small child.” Joseph Seper was Joseph Lasica‘s great uncle.
