NameMaria (Mary) Sudol
Birth1951, Sudoly, Poland
FatherWojciech Sudol (1900-1977)
Short bioMaria lives in the town of Sudoly, Poland, with her husband Marian and seven of her eight children (their daughter Agnieszka was adopted at an early age by Maria’s first cousin, Mary, and her husband Ron Turalinski and lives in Canada). Maria and Marian married in 1971. Maria Sudol is Joseph Lasica‘s second cousin.

Maria wrote us a letter (in Polish) in 2014 that we’ve translated:

I have your address from Mrs. Kinga Borowiec [our translator] and decided to share with you some kind of information, there will be many of them. I Maria Gil am granddaughter of Józef Łasica and your uncle. I am 63 years old. Mom Stefania is in Canada, she is 85 years old. I have two brothers and sister Bożena and two daughters which lives in Canada. I had 8 children. 5 sons and 3 daughters. I was wondering how should I talk to you, I’m writing in polish, sister told me that there are some translation offices so maybe they will translate.

You don’t speak polish so it will be hard to understand each other. I know only native language from homeland you visited, where your grandfather Wojciech came from. Kinga told me that there was not enough time to visit us. We 3 daughters live not so far. Each of us helps on farm. How many of you were? Grandmother was alive when I have been married in 1971, so she sent me greetings, but it was much closer than your long address California, this is far away. My daughter who is 25 years old speak a little bit english, but not enough to write it fast.

I have never been in Canada yet. My daughter Dorota (38 years old) lives in Sadbury in Canada, she has only one daughter (7 years old). If she will have First Communion (First Holy Communion) then maybe she wish me to visit her. Second daughter Agnieszka is 21 years old, she was living in Canada from her young years, so she speak english very well. [Her birth daughter was adopted by Ron and Mary Turalinski in Toronto.]

Maybe this time if you will be in Poland then you will visit us. There is no problem to buy ticket and to fly to you, but I can’t do it, because I need a visa and they (polish department) don’t want to give it. I’m sending you address to sister Bożena, she speak english. Dorota doesn’t speak english.
